If you or someone you know is experiencing food insecurity, the following local programs can help.
Norton’s Nelson Senior & Community Center staff can help with SNAP applications, Meals on Wheels, and local referrals. If you need assistance connecting with any of these resources, call the Norton Department of Human Services / Council on Aging at (508) 285-0235.

Eligibility:
- Open to Norton residents only
- Bring proof of address (bill, license, or mail)
- New clients complete a short registration form
What’s available:
- Fresh, frozen, and non-perishable foods
- Personal care items
- Delivery may be available for residents without transportation call for information

Programs for Norton Residents Regardless of Age
The Department of Human Services is a DTA Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) outreach provider and can help Norton Residents with SNAP applications, renewals and problems.
Programs for Norton Residents Age 60+
1. Grab-and-Go “Heat & Eat” Meals
- Available Tuesday – Friday
- A simple registration form needs to be filled out
- Pick up between 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Drive-Up Window
- Call (508) 285-0235 by Friday at 3:30 PM to reserve for the following week
2. Meals on Wheels
- Delivered daily to homebound adults age 60+
- Register through

3. Commodities Supplemental Food Program (CSFP)
- Age 60+ and income-eligible
(Example limits: 1-person – $1,883/month; 2-person – $2,555/month) - Monthly grocery and produce distribution for Norton Residents
- 3rd Wednesday of each month; Delivery to Woodland Meadows or Pick up at the Nelson Center
